Hi guys,
I would like to say hello & would like some advice on getting a Demountable It ticks all of the boxes for our needs and seems the obvious choice for us.
Have been searching for a while but it seems as any come on the market they are snapped up extremely quickly . I have looked at a Northstar 700dl & looks perfect ! BUT I have a few concerns on the over hang . It overhangs 11inches either side of my Isuzu rodeo 2.5 double cab and 33 inches at the back with the tail gate closed . I didn't have a chance to try mounting it as I have a canopy on the truck at the moment . But I am also concerned about the weight all being beyond the rear axel & the front of my truck pointing up at the sky!
The other thing that I was not keen on was the mounting brackets for the truck on the Northstar, from what I gather the brackets are bolted through the rear wings & going off road with the demountable I would worry the bolts would pull through the thin body panels, has anyone mounted their Northstar another way ?
Or is this particular model & make wrong for my truck ?
any help will be hugely appreciated !!!

Hi from us in Berkshire. You are welcome to come and have a look at our camper. It's a Tischer on an Amarok but can show you how it fixes on etc.

Hi Jamie and welcome
I had a Northstar and sold it because of your concerns , although I did change the tie down points to the truck bed . I now have a Suntrekker which is lighter and narrower , but it is of course much smaller inside . Most people on here cope ok with the bulk of the bigger ones ,it just depend on how you want to compromise . Look at lots .

Welcome Jamie
I would suggest going to view as many different combinations of pick up & De-mountable as you can before you make a decision. Although they are all basically the same, there's a hell of a lot of differences.

Hi Jamie,
I'm in High Wycombe if you need any help.
Though my 25-year-old American camper might not be very representative of the sort of thing you are looking for.
Just ask away - there are lots of things to learn about demountables, they aren't like your regular motorhome.
Steve.
