Demountable camper group

Dear all,

After discussions with Bimobil last Friday I am pleased to announce I can now supply a chassis strenghtening kit for the Navara double and King cabs.

I know this has been a 'hot topic' lately with owners, so we (AdventureOverlandUk Ltd) are pleased to offer help to owners of other makes of demountables who have had problems.

The kits consist of 4 plates, that are shaped and drilled with welding points and slots that have been specially fabricated in Germany by Bimobil to fit the Navara.

The kits can be fitted by any competent welding shop but the pick up load bed will have to be removed first, not a big job, maybe one hours work, then the plates can be fitted. I recommend the area is then undersealed.

These kits can also be fitted to vehicles that have already 'snapped' and have been repaired, assuming the repair has been done properly and the chassis straightened on a jig.

I am awaiting a final price on the kit but I expect they will be around £80. I will take orders for them and collect them from Bimobil Germany on my next visit, hopefully to have them in the UK for mid June.

There is no on-cost for me to bring them to the UK but postage in the UK will be extra, in theory collection could be made at the club meet at the end of june.

If owners remove/refit the buck themselves it would really cut down the labour costs. I would guess a hundred quid would then deal with the welding costs.

I for one will be wanting a kit for my Navara & I'm also going to bite the bullet & re-plate up to 3,500Kg's for the GVW.
I just need to sort my new tyres so that they're compliant with the requirements which have to rated to a minimum 114.
