Levelling the tub floor

like many pickups my truck has a 'corrugated floor'
Now the Apollo has 3 pieces of wood running front to back supporting the camper, now these don't match up with the corrugations in the pickup so they can be in a 'valley' or on top of a corrugation
To me this is putting strain on the camper floor so what I thought was to put a sheet of ply in 1st which the camper would rest on
Do others do this ? or is it a particular problem of the l200
What thickness of ply should I use 12mm or 18mm ?

I use a sheet if 18mm structural ply with the top surface covered with that granulated flooring used fir wetrooms. It also spreads the load as theres a fair chance thst your camper will have
Edge rails thst will put all the load in two places.

There are just too many coincidences Rich! I too went through this with my L200 and ended up cutting a 12mm sheet of ply to sit the Apollo on!!
The Northstar has its supports running side to side so there are no similar problems with my new rig.

Ah thanks Martin, its always good to know I am following the road well trodden
Off to the wood merchants tomorrow for a sheet of ply, thankfully only a couple of miles down the road but so much cheaper than B&Q and far better quality

Board bought , cut and in, just need to scrounge my dads left over woodproofing from his shed to give it a sealing coat
Very happy with this , now undersealing the camper

Did you 'shape' it to drop in around wheel arches, or an oblong between them

I shaped it around the wheel arches, well not quite as the wheel arches are round and my cuts are all straight so its 'T' shaped

Apollo differ from the Karroser as they don't appear to have anything to get clobbered, mine has grey water tank mounted in the last 18"
so a tailgate I would otherwise leave attached has to come off every summer
