Useful article in new (June 2015) MMM magazine on this very subject..

We have just put ours on the weighbridge in full camping trim including 2 x folding bikes and two occupants plus all tanks full.
We need to make some adjustments to get weight off the rear axle but it should be do-able. I'll report with the figures when i've done the math.

That issue of the magazine has a test report on a new Wingamm small coachbuilt motorhome too.
Wingamm were considering producing a demountable last year, no idea whether the plan it's in the pipeline still, but makes it another reason to buy the magazine rather than just browse it in WH Smiths ;)

So it may be a good idea for FinAde to give them a ring and see if they have tested the VW yet and if it can be uprated

Well we have a job number and been allocated Gareth who is dealing with it. Getting a bit frustrated with them to be honest. We put the application in 3 weeks ago, Adrian has rung them 3 times and left messages for Gareth to call back with an update, nothing. He even managed to speak to Gareth himself this morning and he promised to call straight back, nothing. I decided a woman's touch might be the thing so I called this afternoon and it seems they close early Fridays...

I'd rather be given negative news than be ignored

You know Fiona after yesterday with Toyota I can totally empathise on this,
The one thing that gets my back up is poor customer service and being lied to,

Don't imagine my breathing exercises would work on you as you seem to have a grip, I find a large winalot bag helps,

Failing that, a visit face to face and damage to the equivalent value also works well

I bet you could get mad enough to crush a grape.
Given the public nature of this forum I won't broadcast and I don't drink anymore of course, but if anything its made me more devious at getting payback

There's a thread with loads of info regarding this here: SV replating our vehicles

I'm trying to get this done on my Ford Ranger at the minute and the application is with svtech http://www.svtech.co.uk/ at the minute, but they are known to require chasing up to chivvy them along!

Finally got to speak to Gareth yesterday (woman's touch)... promised it was in progress with another Amarok (Lost in the Wilds maybe?) who had yet to add airbags. Apparently all we have to do is pay and they'll send us the new weight plate... waiting for the invoice by email now...

And we too have our Amarok uprate - 3500 kg GVM and 2200 kg for the rear axle.
I started the process with a query to SvTech many weeks ago - never got a reply to that so I would suggest phoning if anyone else is going down this road. And they need chasing constantly to get things finished. Responses to emails were also somewhat slow! Once I got the process going it took around three weeks (although included in that time we fitted the air suspension - we went for VB). Cost for the replating was £260 + VAT.
Going to the weighbridge again soon now we have our Tischer.
Looking forward to seeing lots of you at the end of June.
