UPDATE No. 5


Well I finally received the invoice today from Gareth at SV Tech.
He has honored the £260.00 +VAT as promised with those little words at the bottom stating that my "Prompt attention" was required.

I nearly fell on the floor laughing

I proceeded to make an online payment & then gave Gareth a call to see what happens next.
He told me that once he has cleared funds, then I will get the necessary paperwork & vehicle stickers.
I will then have to send off a V7 to the DVLA for a new Log Book.

I'm still holding my breath for what seems to be an age now

UPDATE No.6

HOORAY..........After badgering Gareth again, I've finally received the new chassis plate in the post today.
It arrived with all the necessary paperwork so as to instruct me where to put the new sticker & what sections of the V5c which is to be sent back to the DVLA.
GREAT I'm thinking until..............I check the chassis number on the new plate, which is WRONG

So I pick up the phone & call SV Tech & ask for Gareth........."It's his day off today"
"Can I check that you have the correct details so that you don't make the same mistake again?"
After checking said details (photo) which they already had from my initial enquiry.
"Thank you, the details you provided are correct. We'll have to get a new plate made & send it out to you."
No apology, nothing to imply an apology ........Nowt

What makes it worse, the date on the new chassis plate says 04/09/15 ..........So they've had it for almost a month before issuing it to me

So they've still got me by the short & curly's

Well I’m going down the DIY route like our dear leader to upgrade the legal weight for nearly free.

So after fitting a new super duper clutch to handle the stresses of a demountable, I also decided to beef up the old girl in other lacking quarters so..

Four bits of shiny new rubber on today..







My new 111 load rated tyres so they’ll be in load tolerance






Dunlop Air suspension for the rear (not newly fitted but all part of the plan) I fitted new uprated rear shocks at the same time.








And a Christmas present for any company that it might be suitable for. If anyone has any ides, let me know and I’ll post it on

Desperate isn't it,
in consolation Andy they seem to have been as totally inept with everyone else, and an internet search of their antics at best produced a theme of "what IS IT they actually do"
it won't from now on obviously as this thread will turn up most likely

Ha ha - that is exactly what I did when I downplated my 101" Land Rover to conveniently be under 3500kg gross weight
