To clear any confusion I emailed Gaslow and have had this reply:-

Yes, there is an on/off tap on each cylinder to allow them to be switched off whilst travelling.
The cylinders have the required 80% shut off mechanism and a level gauge meaning they fully comply with the Eurotunnel guidelines.
