Afternoon champs.
Yup, we bought a ~20yr old Apollo last year on a 2019 Navara double.
We have had very few issues that we couldn't sort out fairly swiftly and have been oot-n-aboot a decent amount. we're based in the West Country, so a lot of great places, reasonably locally. As these have been 1-2 night affairs, we haven't looked to do the demaount part. Yet...
...We have a bit of a treck this coming August, around Pembrokeshire, so we thought we'd stretch its legs. No pun. Looking to take the back off and have a single base for a week.
Here's the situation we now find ourselves in.
While we have all 4 legs which came with the unit. They are pretty much jiggered. Seized motors or no motors at all. Seized gears or yes, you guessed it, no gears at all. What I do have is the lugs, all intact.
So.
Idea 1 - reach out to the folks at Apollo Lancashire and buy a set of new, manual legs. £2000 spent, I thought that was that. Sadly, I am being given the runaround by Mr. G at Apollo and I'm currently trying to ascertain where the legs are coming from (it ain't Lancashire!) as the expected freight is several hundred quid. I'm really struggling with composure here. Has anyone else bought some new legs from Apollo? What was your experience? I paid for these a couple of weeks ago and I still can't get a straight answer.
Idea 2 - use the lugs off the old units and make up something from other manual/hydraulic/electric jacks/rams etc. - like a Hiab or recovery truck, even a garage 4 post lift. Thethe is there any it's pretty straightforward, so I'd be intrigued to hear if anyone else had had any experience in this creative space.
Idea 3 - look at other manufacturers of demountable jacks/legs to see how they may be retailored to fit the Apollo. Again, any experience?
Cheers one and all fopr taking the time to read that. I'm really all about the legs just now, as the Pembroke break is booked and I really don't want to be lugging the demountable around for a week if I don't have to.
Thanks
Jack
