King cab = Double cab?

Now I've only really been looking at buying an Hilux, the version that I think we want is the 'king cab' or 'extra cab' is what some seem to call it,....basically it's got two doors and tiny bum and back pads behind the front seats so it could take 4 people at a push.

Just been looking at the link above, I see that Nissan are calling that a 'king cab' but it's clearly got 4 doors and four proper seats,.....so each pickup manufacturer uses their own terminology for their different chassis/base versions. :?:

That will be a new description then because the Kingcab was Defo the same as the Supercab when I was looking to buy. That may simply be a lazy minded caption writer at work and not accurate at all.

The Navara in the advert is definitely a double cab. The d22 Navara King cab only has 2 doors and the 2 inward facing seats are accessible by folding the front seats forward. The d40 king cab on the other hand has suicide doors and 2 fold down forward facing seats.

I can vouch for the D40 layout, it's what i've got. Just looking for the right Demountable for it, as and when.

The Tischer 260 fits perfectly on a king cab. There's a few on sale in Germany last time I checked.

Just for clarification. King Cab, Extracab, Crew cab etc usually mean two doors, or two doors and two suicide doors a la Nissan.
Usually a short trip pair of rear seats - or just a tool store - quite good for demountables if you don't need four full seats.

Twin cab, double cab, quad cab are the typical names for four full seats and four full doors that all open the proper way (except for the odd yank truck that likes to go pillarless suicide route just to be awkward)

Except for the exceptions that will be listed below...................
