Northstar 700 on Hilux double cab

Post: # 28840Post Wuzz

Hi All,
Anyone out there with some advice on fixing down a Northstar 700 demountable without the cleats fixed through the bodywork? Have thought of using some cut down acro props bolted/welded to the chassis which would enable the extensions that protrude to be taken out when demountable not in use. Any cunning plans gratefully appreciated.
Cheers
Rob

You aren't far off with your idea, Northstar owners have been less than impressed with their fitting system and while it works not everyone wants holes in the bodywork after all, belly bars like this (and yours) crop up;

Hi
Further to my questions last year about getting my Northstar 700 secured onto my Hilux I went and had some brackets fabricated having made cardboard models for a custom fit, rear ones easily bolted on and front ones to be welded on this week! Pics of result at the weekend.They cost me £180.00.

they should be just the job, bet if you had ordered those from Torklift in america they would have been as much in tax duty

That's it!
they look just the job & both pulling <forward just a little too so the orange strap should be belt & braces
but can't do any harm,

Where do you plan going first :)

Probably a car park not too far away to test things out! After that Devon and Cornwall first as they're not far away. Cheers
