Broken leg motor

Hello everyone, my user name is Ponoch, I have a Ranger demountable. Unfortunately one of the leg motors has packed up.
Would anyone know how to obtain a replacement in the UK?
I have had my demountable for approx. 9 years bought new from "the boys" in Rochdale. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Many thanks,
Ponoch

This has been covered on here by Mike with a Nomad (rebranded Ranger)

I shall have to dig out the rest of the pictures and rehost them but your leg like his is a Happijac and prone a pin shearing off usually

The problem I had with mine was with the threaded shaft wearing out the nut in the leg as in the pic above. You could pull the shaft by about a thread or two in and out. Most of the parts are available from happijack but not that!!!, they were very helpful in email correspondence. The main issue is shipping costs I had to buy a complete leg, and the cost to ship was about £400 plus duty plus VAT. It was more than the leg itself. I have not taken a motor apart but the leg assy is actually quite easy. I did post some instructions from happijack regarding this but pm me if you want a copy.

Zildjian, Thanks for your reply concerning my broken leg motor. Before we go down the route of ordering a new motor from Happijac, we thought we would try the manual option, as there are two of us we should be able to wind the legs quite easily!!
Any ideas where we might buy a winder in the UK?

Also we are interested in the 2018 meet, where would it be.

Ponoch.

ponoch - our crank handle looks to be 1/2" allen key size - why not buy a 1/2" allen to 1/2" square drive socket and operate your jacks with a speed brace or ratchet handle? - off topic but had the motor off one jack of mine today and sprayed in white grease and a bunch of filthy water came out.
