This is roughly what I will be building soon hopefully The shower & loo are to be inside at the front & in the middle. The seating area is will be inside either side of the the rear door the luton will have the water tank & the gas bottle.
The side will have a section that opens up for the bed like an envelope that will be 1900mm by 1220mm & will be supported from the legs on the demount & the legs themselves will be driven off compressed air from a compressor mounted inside the camper or electric. I may decide to put the cooker & oven inside then have a detachable pod that's fits on the other side of the box for another bed to make it two berth if I ever get my other half interested in going in it.
I have been looking for this design for a while but never seen it only slide outs if someone has seen one let me know.

Re: new one
So a Demountable with its own Demountable! Where do you put the pod when it's not mounted on the side?

Re: new one
See you have thought about expanding outwards to the side, which vehicle fif you have in mind to carry it

Hi Kitch191,
This may be of interest ...
It's a pop-top camper built by Canadian Gerry Mead which has beds which fold out of the side of the camper similar to the way you're thinking I believe. Gerry used to sell a CD with lots of photos and plans. Whether or not he still does I don't know but it may be worth following up - http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/261841058192?vxp=mtr
The idea of putting the water tank and gas bottles into the luton sounds very dodgy to me. With water at 1 kilo per litre and propane at nearly 0.4 kilos per litre (plus the weight of the gas cyclinder of course), that's a hell of a lot of weight high up. And it's not a static load of course. Even in a tank with baffles your water is going to slop about, continuously shifting its weight. Could make for some very unexpected cornering behaviour!

Hello Toshbins
I will store the pod in the garage against the wall if I make one then again I might make either side as pods & put them on only when I use it to sleep in if I use just for days out.

Hello
I have thought about this idea for a while now it will fit on my Isuzu single cab as the floor length will be 2100mm long.

Hello
This is as close as I have seen to it but I will be making the sides solid.
I will only fill up the water tank on site not travel with it full as the tank in the luton will is only be for showering There will be another tank on the floor area for all the other needs ( sorry did not make that clear when putting it on) & use that one to fill the other. The gas on it`s own I will have to work out how it sits but don`t think it will be a problem on it`s own I may even adopt for a refillable tank lower at the rear.
The whole thing will be lighter than the average demount as I was always nervous when I had to load the adventurer on & off the back of the Toyota that was heavy the fellow that bought it turned up in a single cab ranger 2002 plate it went down the road with it`s nose in the air but I think he was happy with it.
Thanks for the pic

Re: new one
That is a clever use of space certainly with the bed part folding out of the side
Re: new one
A few more to look at
The first is a take on the new one & a rehash interior & incorporating the luton.
Second one is a pop top with a difference the pop out is on the bottom so the legs can be fixed in place on the top.
The bottom slides up & down & sits on it`s own legs .The rear overhangs .If adapted with the bed on the side the height of the camper would be less then normal when sitting on the truck as you could overhang the rear of the camper below the height of the truckbed .
