MizRaff & her Yank Tank say hi

Hi everybody!
We bought our demountable (a 1993 Dutchmen built by Four Winds) last August. It's nicknamed 'Max' and he sits on the broad butt of the 1990 Ford F250 king cab pickup we bought at the same time, nicknamed 'Big Beth'.

So we're brand new to the world of demountable-ing, and looking forward to meeting a fair number of you over the next year!
Current plans are to refit/revamp Max, as he's really showing his age in the fixtures and fittings department, then renting him out on Airbnb or similar as a static 'chic camper hut' on those weeks of the year that we're not gallivanting around the landscape with him. So he'll be regularly looked after and well aired, and he'll bring in a nice little regular income stream instead of sitting somewhere getting musty and depreciating in value.
When I've remembered my Photobucket password, I'll post some pics!

Sue & Rob
(and Big Beth and Max, obvs.)

June in Derbyshire sounds like fun! I'm from Staffs originally so Derbyshire is like coming home. :)
Thanks for adding the pics for me. I'd forgotten how much poor Bethie sags when Max is on board... definitely saving up for some airbags.

Hi Sue & welcome to the forum, looks like you've gotten yourself a bit of a project & some potential income to boot :D
Any questions, then just fire away as & when you need to & we may see you in June.
Check out our "2015 Social" topic for the details of the camp site we're using & get yourself booked in sooner rather than later ;)
Details can be found at the bottom of page 18 on the topic.

Zildjian,

I believe Max and Beth spent quite a few years (after being imported to the UK in 2004) sitting around on a caravan site in Eastbourne. They got traded in, and my sharp-eyed hubby spotted them on eBay :)

How long ago was that, I watch sales in UK pretty carefully but these American campers slip by unnoticed, He was pretty sharp-eyed indeed to catch this one
