The wife and kids are not interested any more but my wanderlust just gets worse as the years progress. I need to know if a demountable is the way forward for me before I go ahead and spend a bucket load of money on something thats gonna sit in the drive. I'd love to buy used if any about just for a taster or failing that some good honest input on the highs and lows of ownership. I would truly value any advice people may have and look forward to reading any replies.
Your very good health

As many of us here are fans - here is a view on wanderlust.......

“When I was very young and the urge to be someplace else was on me, I was assured by mature people that maturity would this itch. When years described me as mature, the remedy prescribed was middle age.In middle age I was assured greater age would calm my fever and now that I am fifty-eight perhaps senility will do the job. Nothing has worked. Four hoarse blasts of a ships's whistle still raise the hair on my neck and set my feet to tapping. The sound of a jet, an engine warming up, even the clopping of shod hooves on pavement brings on the ancient shudder, the dry mouth and vacant eye, the hot palms and the churn of stomach high up under the rib cage. In other words, once a bum always a bum. I fear this disease incurable. I set this matter down not to instruct others but to inform myself....A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless. We find after years of struggle that we not take a trip; a trip takes us.”

Many thanks for all the pointers people. I've spoke to a mate of a mate who has one for sale over Hull way. I'm hoping for some pictures before I make the trip over and if I get them I'll post em up on here for any advice you may have. Getting excited now so must make sure I dont just snatch the first thing that comes my way.

cheers. Buster.

Any information on make or age anything like that?
your Japanese truck will take pretty much anything with so much width between wheel arches so as long as the camper is designed for a crew-cab
(the bed section extends further forwards than a single cab)

then its up to you if you like it or not.

Buster if your unsure how to post up pictures just mail me them using the 'E-mail us' button
