Hi
I am a new member ( signed up today ) I haven’t actually collected our camper yet but should be off to the Tischer factory in August to collect ( can’t wait ) pandemic allowing. Off next weekend to get my truck camper ready, then off for the open road. I am struggling to arrange insurance for the camper, £1100 seems a lot of money, can get it cheaper if I insure truck and demountable as a package, anyone got any tips ?

Thanks in advance, Buylogs

Enjoy your new Tischer,
we have an insurance thread running here; viewtopic.php?f=32&t=426

Personally I use Campton, I could look around at renewal but it was easier to continue yearly
they insure me annually as combo or truck on road and camper at home by itself

Hi and thanks for accepting me to your group. I'm going to view a Demountable camper tomorrow afternoon that's for sale in Scotland. Ive been looking for a campervan for a while now and came across this one today. A European Adventure on a 2003 Mazda b2550 truck with "guaranteed" 46k on the clock. Both appear to be in great condition going by the photos.
Id never seen one of these demountable units before and this seems like a good deal to me especially the fact it can be dismounted from the truck after parking up.
Is there anything in particular I should be on the look out for when viewing? I've already looked at some earlier posts and I'll purchase a moisture meter tomorrow before I go view the van as the post advised.

Thanks

No, if you've read our buyers guide which includes the moisture meter then you've got the questions ready to ask,

Adventure are a solid camper product and featured here several times good luck with viewing

Well thanks for the tip I discovered here yesterday about the moisture meter. I bought one this afternoon then went to view the Europe Adventure. It looked great until I noticed excess silicon sealant around a window adjacent to the toilet. I went inside the van and used the meter on the side walls in cubicle. Reading remained at 0%. However when I put it on the external wall next the window it went straight up to 32%. At two locations the meter read OL which I believe is off the scale! Lowest reading on the whole wall was 26%! I cut short the inspection and headed home!
Thanks again.

Wise decision, there will be others,
off top of my head I believe I've seen rebuilds of the overcab typically,
rear wall is a common fault with Apollo and pretty much why we never carry used adverts for them here.

I thought it was about time I included my camper in this section.
The picture was taken at the Whitby Runaway a couple of years ago
