Thanks for all the replays guys. Niche marketing pretty much said it's a bit too high and I should try to look for one built for the Landy. I will look into the anti roll bar as that sounds perfect. I bought the 130 unseen from brightwells auctions after months of looking and I sold my 90 to fund it. It is a long old bus and it rolls a fair bit. It does have a standard arb unlike the earlier models. It's the last of the 300 tdis. What do you do with your tailgate? Does it detach? Thanks again and sorry if I'm abusing the meet and greet section.

I remove my tailgate when the camper is loaded. Its only held on by two 13mm nuts and bolts on each hinge and the support wires just twist off. If you want to use the truck without the tailgate you will need to put a numberplate and lamp on the rear crossmember.

Interesting that Niche are saying your modified rig is too high as that is precisely what they sold to me initially i.e. a lifted normal unit on a wood frame. I refused to accept it as it was not a true Land Rover fitment and they had Northstar build me another - but it all took time!

Slightly different situation in that I have never bought anything from niche marketing. I enquired at one stage as to the cost of the mounting bolts that stay on the truck. I made my own in the end rather than pay what they wanted to import them. Understandable costs given that they are specially made but still came as a shock. Mine needs to be lifted by about 200mm to clear the roof of the defender. I will get a pallet built to lift it and see what it feels like. Think I just need to man up a bit from what you were saying. The demountable I have came with an l200. I'll share the pic of the day I collected it for your amusement. I think I got my money's worth out of the pickup I rented. Image

My try-it-to-see-if-it-suits was an Apollo on a 2005 L200 doublecab. When we decided that it did the Apollo was then used on the 130 whilst my Northstar was built. As I stated above we rejected their first attempt as it was just a lifted normal unit and not a LR fitment that I had paid a premium for (the issue was that I wanted a DL700 layout not the normal LR fitment which is a DL750). I remove the rear lamp clusters on the 130 to shorten the rear overhand when on adventure travel which means I require the DL 700's shorter floor length than the DL750.

One other issue that helps reduce sway is playing with your tyre pressures. I've played around quite a bit over the last four years and with a fully loaded and provisioned demountable I run 25psi in the front and 55psi in the rear. I've not put it on the scales but I bet that roughly equates to the front and rear axle loading. For "normal" loading I use 30psi front and 40 psi rear and if empty and using the truck for green laning 30psi both front and rear.
