I thought motorhomes were confusing but demountables aren't any simpler!
I need to do the 1000 miles and look, hopefully finding more than one thing to look at.

Thought I might add a bit on my experiences.
Picked up from Wales after a bus and four trains then a lift from the station. Was hoping it would be ready so I could catch some of Friday's rally Wales but due to late delivery of bits for MOT was the Monday. Quick tour of how to mount it and kindly given a pile of sandwiches and off for the 400+ mile trip home. First impressions, quite vague to drive and you need to work the box, ride not luxury level either but ok. Strong winds have a noticeable effect, hardly surprising but happy enough at indicated 70mph on motorway even with the wind. Stopped on what I thought would be a quiet road Monday night, got that wrong! Bed comfortable, warms up quickly, toilet a good thing to have!
Last couple of hundred miles got very wet as well as windy, last 50 or so miles road flooded, closed a few hours after I got through.
First impressions are favourable except it really likes a drink! Not brilliant to drive although the wind didn't help, my normal car is a Cayman so most things don't compare well! You aren't going to be making rapid progress but it isn't underpowered even though it is only 120 bhp. Have to use the gearbox though, it doesn't like low revs. The actual living bit is excellent, much better than my VW. Several people have described it as a TARDIS, there really is more room than you would think for something that goes on a pickup bed.
If you are thinking about one all I can say is go for it, can't imagine you would be disappointed.
