Demountable suitability

Hi there folks. I was wondering if I might tap into your expertese.
I am thinking of taking the plunge and investing in a demountable. I am interested in two different units which I hope to use on a Land rover Defender 130 High capacity pick up. I am not sure if I would be legal with them or equally importantly how it would drive with it mounted.

1) Bigfoot 10.6e: I have been told it is 1.2 tonne which weight wise is legal but the length of the bed and the length of the unit i am not sure about. It is 139" and the centre of gravity is 53 1/2" from the front.
2) is an Artic fox which I don't have dimensions for just yet.

The Defender bed is a bit over 7' I am not sure of the exact position of the axle in relation to that to see how far back over the axle the centre of gravity would be. Its gross weight can be 3.5 tonne which should be in or around right for either.

Very specific question but I'm sorry to say we don't have a lot of either bigfoot or Artic fox campers amongst membership,
the market for both American campers & the trucks to carry them has never been large here in the UK
(although growing)

Can I suggest trying our German friends, campers of that size are far more common in on continent and the membership often speak English and are helpful

They are big alright. The American pick-ups seem more suited to having them on board as the axles are much further back than the European pick-ups.

Never seen one of those on anything but a Chevy' or Big Ford American truck, those are huge and not at all light

Germany; SKarosser LR specific model though

Might be of interest, you likely won't find many of these for LR fitment
