A first here I think, towing a glider or speedboat has been done but nobody's mentioned lighting until now

I will only be putting an inflatable kayak and buoyancy aids in as I don't want to put a wet boat inside the camper.

Also if we are taking the trailer it helps keeping a bit of wait out of the rig also.

It's the 'Ade' in Finade you need for this... although it looks like it's sorted :D

If you get your pickup correctly fitted with a Euro 13 pin socket, you can then run a splitter - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003 ... ge_o04_s00 - which connects under the demountable and then connects to the 7 pin connector that has the correct wiring to charge your leisure battery, leaving you with the spare socket which houses your vehicle electrics for running a trailer board. Simples.

Made up a splitter this morning so I don't have to modify the truck electrics.

Short end plugs into the camper and the long end goes to the trailer.

Looks a neat set up bookend, I think I saw some in the 'curly' wire on sale somewhere but these will work OK too

I've just made up a new socket connection so I can plug the camper and my bike trailer in to my truck. There was some concern, at the trailer supply shop, as to whether the extra draw from the lamp bulbs would overload the system.
Has anyone experienced this particular problem?
I am aware that you can replace the trailer board bulbs with LED and, whilst at the trailer suppliers, they mentioned just unplugging the tail lamp units on the truck, so they don't add to the draw.

Thats quite an old thread I got reminded of!
LED are a fraction of energy in lighting compared to incadescant but I would be inclined to agree and simply leave camper out of the loop,
but I think you'd need to simultaneously have side, fog, hazards & brakes on before you'd blow a fuse I've not seen that happen since someone accidentally plugged in an anti-theft dummy lead into something

(All wires lead to ground)
