Will everything work electrically from the caravan/towing plug alongside towball?

Ideally needs the second grey plug wiring in alongside, that or the new multi-pin
then you get charging of camper's leisure battery, reversing lamp, and (i think) habitation lighting and fridge thrown in as well

Another stupid question.

My pick up towbar has black & grey sockets which match the black and grey plugs on the demountable.

I want to tow my boat up to Abersoch next weekend and need a lighting board on the back of the boat.

Ideally, i would like a splitter so that I can run the black socket to both the demountable & the lighting board. Is such a thing available?

If not, would I be legal with just the lighting board and no rear lights on the demountable?

Popular consensus is; it would probably work but try it see if having a few lights on at once blows a fuse, (either)
unplug camper, and or refit LED bulbs on back of everything to be on safe side, these use a fraction the current your bulbs do as they aren't creating any heat as a by product only light

Question.
As an insulated unit and essentially just sat in back of a truck
How does the earth work?
I always imagined a trailer or caravan would be properly grounded through the towball being metal

The towing sockets on the back of the truck - 12N (black), 12S (grey), or single 13-pin - carry earth leads back to the truck's chassis as well as power leads to the camper/trailer/caravan.

Nope. It might be an issue with the trailer lights if the earth connection in the plug fails. You can get some very weird effects, but a well designed lighting system won't be connected to the trailer chassis. Note the caveat.
