Happijac leg
Re: Happijac leg
On farming trailer a frame props they look the same inside as that. much shorter than needed here of course typically 18" high maybe
but if both tubes and the bar (whatever it is) gets extended that would be exactly whats needed i reckon

Re: Happijac leg
Hi
Has anyone stripped one of these yet ? One of mine failed today . The front jacks were at full stretch as my drive slopes down hill to get the truck out . I started to lower the front and one corner dropped . As I managed to sort of level it again it dropped again .The motor runs as normal but the leg will not move with any weight on it . I suspect that it is the "nut" that has stripped as it will not bite at any point .
Thanks Jim
Re: Happijac leg
Think these are what Tony S has, failing that might suggest Niche ;( see what they suggest,
Truedink used to use an outfit (ask him name) that imported parts etc

Re: Happijac leg
Hi, Niche would certanly be able to get you a new leg but I doubt they would do individual parts. You would have to wait until they get a consignment of campers delivered though.
You could try Star Spangled Spanner. They are very expensive and somewhat unreliable however.
ebay.com is probably your best bet but shipping can be crippling.

Motorhome Medics in Cheltenham supply American RV parts and are very reliable and, when they have stuff in stock, ship very quickly. They have an eBay store - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/RV-Spares?_trk ... 7675.l2563 - but whether or not they would be able to get parts for Happijacs I don't know. Might be worth asking. Re: Happijac leg
Thanks for all the suggestions , but no help so far . I have stripped the jack and found that the " nut" , which is made of nylon has stripped ( the white thing with square holes in it ). I can't get hold of Niche and I am waiting for a reply from USA to see if they will supply the part . I have found a company local that could remake them in bronze . They mentioned £100 for one , but a lot cheaper for a few . Is anyone interested in keeping a spare for emergency ? Hopefully USA will supply. I will keep you posted
Re: Happijac leg
A replacement in Bronz would that react OK with the threaded bolt at the moment, I only mention this as some metals don''t work well with others especially if damp is concerned
so it might be worth sourcing (some) from states maybe

Re: Happijac leg
I have had a response from the States " time to buy a new leg " . I am now begging them , so we will see.
The company I have found are pretty specialised and phospfer bronze is what they recommended . They only make nuts and bolts , they had bolts 150mm diameter !
New legs are only $240 , but I don't really want to pay shipping and import tax .

Re: Happijac leg
Any additional reason to 'buy a new leg' I mean you don't throw out the whole broom for want of a handle normally
Re: Happijac leg
I don't think they expect them to be serviced . Part of the assemble is staking, the end of the inner tube is crimped over to hold it together , getting it apart is a bit of a fight .
