Right, so, for all the folks that don't know.
A couple of months ago, a friend of ours suggested to Gilly that she should apply for a new TV program. After thinking nothing of it & she hadn't got on the show. Gilly got a call out of the blue asking her for a phone interview. She passed this with flying colours & was asked to send in a short video of herself. Again nothing was heard for a few weeks, then last week the call came to say that she'd got through to the heats.
Gilly’s heat was today & she was 1 of 16 contestants to be filmed in groups of 4 for 4 days with a final being filmed on the following Friday.
She had been asked previously to cook a ‘signature’ dish as one of her rounds which would be a part of 3 rounds in the heat. Gilly choose to cook her pancake based Cannelloni. This was her chance to shine & although nerves got the better of her. She managed to get through the 1st round & avoid an early elimination.
So now they’re down to 3 for round 2. They’re then shown how to prepare & cook a dish by a Michelin Star Chef. Then they have to repeat the dish as close to the chef’s as possible. Gilly struggled a little with trimming some asparagus but redeemed herself with a ‘perfect’ poached egg.
Unfortunately with a not so good 1st round & a 2nd round up against some stiff competition, it just wasn’t Gilly’s day to shine I’m afraid.
Gilly did manage to be herself & make the crew laugh a few times throughout the day & thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience & said that she’d do it all over again in a heart beat.
The producers have asked her if she would like to do anything else on television to which she said yes.
The show is due to air on BBC daytime afternoon from mid August, so watch out for your claim to fame friend on the box Gilly

Installing a tiny sensor probe and its controller

The LED's indicate its powered (and in this case the ovens' been on testing it,

and it drives this small fan to extract heat out from ovens cabinet below sink

well it save me the bother of having to get up and manually switch fan on and off
(which is truly a chore)
