Winterized camper yesterday, (well threw a cover over it)
I know the hardcore camping element here will be planning further outings up to and including December but there's nothing here on the calendar until next May at least :)

Just back from collecting my latest ebay purchase from Oxford. :)

An 8 Inch astronomical reflecting telescope.

Image

My last one, some 6 odd years ago was only a 4 1/2 inch. As part of my things to see I worked my way around Jupiter and its moons, the moon, in all its phases, Saturn, with its rings, and even a bit of solar projection on the house wall. (Sunspots and things)
I need to do a bit of research and repair on the new telescope but, will be revisiting past viewings, and hope to search out a few deep space nebulae.
It's not as if I don't have enough to do on these cold dark evenings but it was such a bargain that I had to go for it.

I never will get my seat cushions finished

As you've probably noticed I have to promote myself as there's a conspicuous silence otherwise :)

Loaded camper today for weekend in North Yorkshire.
The water heater drains itself when it below 3 degrees so will have to keep the camper above that even when we're not in it. Probably best to keep some background heat on anyway otherwise takes too long to heat up. We'll see.

Bad weather and a bout of winter vomiting virus has put a stop to all activities :(

Buying and fit a new battery (114 quid) for Hilux,

then sit in queue spectating a new Range Rover on low profile tyres going precisely nowhere in 2" of snow :)
