13 pin electric hook up

Any electrical whizz kids out there?
We got our Tischer 230 back from Italy and have some electrical problems - no battery charging, no 12v connection the fridge and only one indicator. We've had a 13 core extension lead made up as the cable on the Tischer is not long enough to reach the socket on the truck. I've had the truck outlet socket checked and that's fine.
Having had a look at the plugs/sockets and wires I notice that the colous of the wires in the extension cable don't match those of the wires on the plug on the Tischer so I can't be sure which pin runs what.
I've downloaded a diagram of the standard pin positions/wire colours and they match the wires and pins on the extension cable.
Anyone any idea what the pin positions on a Tischer run what services. If I can determine this I can connect the right wires to the right pins!

Try this link, it may help you, there seems to be a choice of colours but the pins should still be the same for all 13way sockets.

Already found that and printed off the diagram. I need to know if the pins on the camper socket run exactly the same services as stated on that diagram.

No reason why they wouldn't, but using the diagram as a start you can check each bit of kit with a multimeter, or put a 12v supply on the correct pins and see what works. Identify the earth pins first and check for continuity to the relevant item or chassis. As long as you are logical and don't supply current to two shorted earth pins, you aren't going to break anything. Somebody may have the Tischer info so if you aren't confident of proceeding it would probably be better to wait. Shame you aren't close by or I would sort it for you.

Where are you based?

I don't mind having a look if your local.

And the pins on the camper socket should be wired the same as the socket on the truck if it's been don correctly.

You say you have had the truck socket checked but by who the standard check only does the road lights and not the power connections.

It's easily checked with a multi meter.

Thanks all for your help. I'm in darkest west Wales Bookend, probably a bit far for a cuppa, but thanks anyway.
Claude is checking his Tischer and getting back to me.

A thought - in the diagram at http://www.rightconnections.co.uk/13-pin-uk am I looking at the pins or the connections at the back of the plug? Would make a big difference!

I found that its key to have a well stripped wire in the end of the pin as well, ive tinned all mine which helped a lot.
Good luck

Those diagrams are usually viewed from the outside - the 'working' end. Most times I open one of these things up the wires are green - they live in an inhospitable environment back there. You used to be able to get a plug cleaner from caravan shops for the 7-pin types, I presume they do one for 13's.
