Nice pics, subtle 'Tigurr' on the reg ;) I wouldn't fancy running a 101 though. Fuel, comfort, noise to name just a few.

That second Iveco looks a tough old bird though - ideal for Morocco i'd say.

Keith, do you still have pics of the Tandy Pony you can put up? I think I've seen them before but not on the new forum.
Good for reference.

Well, like a lot of people, we started with tents and an old van when our kids were little, then progressed through a couple of basic home conversions in Freight Rover Sherpas. Eventually, when they'd all left home (there are four of them), we sold the house, bought a small American C-class (Amazon 20RB) and quit full-time work.

Image

The Amazon became our only home for the next five years - travelling in the winters and doing seasonal work in the summer months. I'd often wondered about the demountable idea though and so couldn't resist this Suntrekker on a P100 when we came across it.

Image

The P100 was passed its prime but the Suntrekker, with a little tweaking, fitted very nicely on a Ford Ranger Supercab and confirmed for us that we liked the demountable concept. So much so in fact that in 2008 we sold the much-loved Amazon and bought this Leisure Camper EC8L through Golum.

Image

As well as taking us all over the shop, including one five-month, 14500-mile round trip from the south of France to Nordkapp, we lived in that for six months of each year as we did our seasonal work but finally got rid of it a couple of years ago after I'd bought North American again (actually Canadian this time) - a Great West Van Classic Supreme.

Image

I never could resist a V8 engine and those big comfortable captain's chairs! And so finally on to the current demountable which is going to fit on the Ranger double cab parked next to the Great West. As you can see it's in development. I've just started a thread in the self-build section if you want to follow its progress.

Interesting stuff. We've had an American beast too. I hade a love hate relationship with it.
That EC8 on a white Ranger is identical to Steves rig here in Norfolk, I've go a pic on the laptop, I'll check when The Boss brings it home later.

Assuming we're talking about the same Steve, the EC8L is not just identical but the same one!
