Very cool experience though. Did you have to self tutor the kids?
We did, the girls were 9 and 11, we used the various landmarks and cultures to link into the national curriculum, a bit loose but worked. They both returned to school and were still in the higher end of the class, and have both still achieved great GCSE's etc.

I can't claim credit, it's Mrs. Eurosully who is the clever one and did most of the "teaching".

Great times, we went well north of the Arctic Circle in Norway (whale watching) and did most of Western Europe plus Czech Republec. 27,000 miles, 1 rear end crash, 1 visit to casualty, 50+ camp sites in 52 weeks....Awsome.....ready to do it again, as soon as the girlsare out of our hair!
You win the DCG cool parenting badge .. I guess they'll never forget that year

Nice, have done three of those five, mostly return deliveries. You might have to give North Africa a miss these days.

No it was the 5 day coastal,I never had the time for long ocean legs and now I don't know if I would like to do long legs on board. I can cope better with being vehicle based.pneumonia+ lung removal+ massive heart attack during op + diabetes= big life changes. Dreams of retiring to a live a board lifestyle are now just dreams.

Bloody hell, you got the short straw with that chain of events didn't you!! Hope you're feeling good enough to enjoy life now though. A months passage can be tough even when you're fit.
