Does anyone on here tow with a demountable?

I assume the overhang is not ideal.

Steve, it IS possible, you'll need to pick up an extension to refix towball to I had one and it was about 600mm in length
square tube of about 60mm SQ

Are extensions legal?

Wouldn't want an insurance problem if somthing went wrong !!

I've not seen it done myself, something done by Americans & Europeans
in States they normally tow a jeep on a trailer which is the main reason truck campers so popular anyway,

I wouldn't do it myself or at least not with anything bigger than small box trailer but then of course your subject to the normal towing speeds etc and sort of negates most of my reasons for buying one in the first place

I'm planning to make an extension for my small German steel camping trailer. With something that size there shouldn't be any issues.
For something really big I'd have the mods made by a fabricator in case the extended trailer neck caused stress issues.
The previous owner of my SKarosser towed a microlight.

Actually thinking about it I spoke to a glider pilot who towed one of those long thing trailers all over the UK behind his,
so yes legal,

all of them are made in Sweden by Skarroser

Nord star is the german labelled camper pictured
NSR is uk name
they are also marketed elsewhere as 'easy camper' France I think

I've seen a company that will make up towbars for campers as often standard ones won't fit. I'll search out the details
