Couple of pics
A nice Azalai conversion on a Land Cruiser I seen last year on the ferry to the mainland.
Not sure what make this one is on a Hilux xtracab, poor quality drive by pic.

Re: Couple of pics
Yup the Azalai is smart, it would be the style I would go for if I ever get around to building one. Usually see a few up here every year, usually foreign plates.
Re: Couple of pics
So would that mean you would prefer a moving roof over a 'hardsided' model
I only mention as given your location it might be worth considering the heat loss in pop-up roof models
obviously if you intended taking trips somewhere warmer then it wouldn't matter

Re: Couple of pics
Was the aesthetics I was referring to, to my eyes it looks neat not like some that are way too high and wide IMO. Think I could live with the pop up roof tho, can't be any worse than a roof top tent, not that I have slept in eitherzildjian wrote:So would that mean you would prefer a moving roof over a 'hardsided' model

Re: Couple of pics
I'll give you that, they do look less obtrusive (if thats the word)
the only other thing I can think to mention is they don't have a toilet as such in the pop-tops
not that's a deal breaker in your case as a self-build
