Romahome D20

I didn't know that Romahome had launched a new model De-mountable in 2015. I know it's not everyone's 'cup of tea' and at a launch price then of £27,995 on the road, it's not cheap but it must have appealed to at least one buyer as there was one for sale on E-bay but not sure the exact date? ( SOLD - 05/08/17 )

I did find this bit about the launch

Note: put up for general information's sake, might even get a couple of comment's.

Very interesting Mike. Thanks for finding it. They managed to sneak that onto the market without much fanfare didn't they? :? It's a very neat little box and well thought out with that kitchen (and therefore much of the weight) right across the front. Not sure about the base vehicle though - not a lot of payload or power to play with with that on the back!

I found this short video of the interior at the NEC launch. For what it's worth, i'm very impressed with the great use of such a small space.

I'm a bit surprised that it doesn't have a shower/toilet cubical, only space for a porta potti,....for a camper of that size.

Hi Steve,

I agree, Romahome do seem to able to squeeze an awful lot in & do have shower/loo set up's in some of their campers, as do Nu-Venture.

Mind you, as Martin pointed out, not a lot of spare payload to play with & the DFSK Big Cab isn't going to be tearing up the tarmac either!

I've found this ' What van? ' write up.

Good find Mike, interesting read, I'm surprised that the payload isn't higher than that and the power plant certainly seems a bit weak. :o

I put it up as Romahome were one of the first in the early days of De-mountable's, i'm sure Martin Wiltshire can comment further.

I know it's not what any members of the DCG Forum/Facebook group own, apart from Poppi i believe but nevertheless, i find certain aspects of this particular style of De-mountable quite appealing. Small, easy to park, cheap to run, great for a sneaky couple of nights away exploring single lane back roads, a cheeky bit of stealth camping but not for longer long term touring, no fixed bed for starters!

The biggest drawback from my side is the initial cost + the limitations of use make them a non-starter but i can see the appeal.

And, the DCG, is for all De-mountables.

I have had a look at a similar sized van but think on closer inspection that it has a slightly longer wheelbase and a better payload and it's not de-mountable.

Oh, it is also £38k. That's a Bonkers amount of money.
