...If this lost in translation...there is a Norfolk dialect phrase 'Slow Yew Down Bor!' - (Slow down boy!)

Cant decide which is the most amusing of the dialects and although Norfolk is up there I reckon it might be Dorset or somewhere West country anyway,
A local was complaining after TV series 'Broadchurch' was slated by locals as offering their accent as somewhat 'yokel' and 'simple' sounding

Norfolk and West Country dialects sound remarkably similar. Seafaring folk I guess. (I am accentless, although somewhat seafaring)
I didn't hear anything other than Home Counties accents last time I was in Broadchurch (West Bay) And yes, those signs are absolutely for real!

Must be irritating to see (& hear) your locale being overrun by home counties types,
always strikes as odd no matter how far you travel west, fewer local accents about

I don't suffer class envy, but we seem to have a 'special' breed of second homers here.
They want the whole Norfolk coast to be populated by various members of their ex schools, London clubs and London professions. Once the whole place looks, sounds and feels like Kensington, what will be the point of leaving the Kensington with clubs and theatres ,and helicoptering into the Kensington with a beach?
This lot are generally pretty awful people. I know a few, and it irritates me when we go to dinner parties and listen to them braying about sweeping the 'poor people' out of their cottages so they can have a holiday home.. and they mean it!
Anyway, enough politics here, were a forum for funny campervans aren't we?
