Where can I buy demountable legs!

Hi all,

I am in the middle of rebuilding our Apollo. Our has the really old round legs. I would like to put the new modern ones like on the Northstar and Ranger. Where can I buy these from?

Thanks

Tim

Hi Tim, I don't know of anybody selling /importing them into the UK on a regular basis. I bought mine direct from Rieco Titan in the States - http://www.riecotitan.com/ . They offered me a really good price and arranged shipping via UPS very cheaply as well. The only drag was when they got here (France) I got absolutely slammed for import duties which literally doubled the cost. There are other jack manufacturers in the States of course. I guess Happijac is the best known - http://happijac.com/ . I don't know whether it's worth talking to Niche RV - http://www.northstarcampers.co.uk/ - who import Northstar campers into the UK. They may be prepared to have a set of legs thrown in with one of their shipments (could prove the cheapest option). Apart from that I think the only alternative is to look at having some fabricated if you have a decent, local engineering outfit.

Thank you Martin,

The advice is very helpful. I will contact Northstar and see how helpful they are.

We stripped down and overhauled the legs on our Apollo. The main weakness is the bearings. I produced a 'how to guide', if you're interested I'll try and find this document??

Thank you for the input. Our legs do not look like yours in the pic. Ours are really old and detach from the demountable. The are round aluminium legs. Hence looking for the modern ones which stay attached and also look like they lower the unit a lot more than our old ones do.

These could be an option although they are not cheap.
