Thanks for those Positive words Steve. Maybe i shouldn't be in such a rush to sell it and upgrade.
I suppose i could just sell the King cab and spend some of that money on up grading the current set-up.

How much do they charge for weighing such a vehicle?mjb666 wrote:I've got the official weighbridge station print out and keep a copy in the glove box should i ever get stopped.
I thought ,new truck, bite the bullet and get it all checked out?
Result, i've got spare carrying capacity when the De-Mountable is loaded and carrying all the stuf i use whilst away.
If you did happen to be over weight, would they have fined you or does that only happen if an Officer is over seeing the test??
Going by the 'Cops on TV' programmes that I've seen, I believe that you can't leave there until the weight is brought down so did you have another vehicle/friend with you who could have taken some items off the camper?
Or maybe you went with a full water tank, hoping that draining that would have brought the weight down below the limit??

Hi Earthman

I stand to be corrected if i have mis understood the results but i have 160kg free on the front axle, 140kg free on the rear & 2570-2420=150kg free overall.
2420-1410=1010kg. This means my De-Mountable is weighing in at a metric Ton. Bit of a lump to say the least!
On reflection, I was a bit naive on deciding to go to the public weighbridge. I have no idea what i would have done if i had been overweight?
But it was £14.00 well spent in the end BUT after allowing 125kg for two of us, that only leaves 25kg for general stuf. I did go with a Full tank of diesel and two gas bottles.
Interestingly, i take the tail gate off when i'm loaded and i've weighed that. 22.5kg!!!
Hope that's of some help
Mike

Re: Mis match result
Sums look about right and a weighbridge (unless operated by VOSA) are not there to police just weigh things
use bridges at farms/Waste transfer stations/Builders merchants all private and calibrated
