Oh no what has happened (Ranger repair)
Re: Oh no what has happened
Snap
still looking for something, when I find something unattended in the corner of a field next I'll measure it and go along to the agricultural suppliers see what they have
(the same gear mechanism appears on various props for thing like seed drills and plough's and such)

You think an ag supplier is the best place? I have two within a mile of me. I'll drop a cap in Next time I roll by, I'm often in there

Re: Oh no what has happened
Well I know they sell prop stands certainly, Iv''e just looked at 'indispension' and they offer a range although TBF not especially helpful in my experience.
Just spoke to a Co called 'Ross castors' in Leicester they carry a range and have a 5 day trade counter but if your passing an agric supply I would definitely take a leg in with you rather than Cap (unless your certain)

Re: Oh no what has happened
When I first got mine which has electric happijacks I took the motor off the top and used lithium greese which they recommended. Packed it all out and ran the legs in and out to spread the lube.zildjian wrote:Is there an option to check the legs for corrosion inside while off camper?
Noticed it was hard work winding one of mine down yesterday, stripped it apart and found the ACME threaded bar inside completely dry & (if not rusty) exactly,
anyway wiped some grease over the thread and reassembled it again and much better.
Some were dryish so hopefully all good now

Re: Oh no what has happened
Mine were dry/rusty lower down though,
could you wind them apart (one is inside the other right)
unless they are assembled in a different manner to the karroser
After disassembling them totally from the gearing at the top down I discovered I only need wind them apart to achieve the same end
oh well

Mike, what is the method you use to tie-down the camper at front and back please,
do you have any pictures of front?
do you have any pictures of front?
Re: Oh no what has happened
Meant to mention actually on the corrosion I had on leg mechanism.
I think what I did after they were reconstructed after I bent them,
the welder showed me the finish items at workshop and we wound them up and down OK
(then I took them to be galvanised)
at which point of course they would have been dipped in de-grease tank before being treated I picked them up finished and thought no more about them until Four years later when one was apparently seized
working great BTW now greased
/imbecile

Re: Oh no what has happened
Just use ratchet straps down to the load bed hooks at the front of the truck and again ratchet straps to the tow bar or towing hook ( the one you use for a tow rope) thats what the previous owner recommend, so have stuck with that. What pics did you want to see?zildjian wrote:Mike, what is the method you use to tie-down the camper at front and back please,
