New Fiat pick-up
New Fiat pick-up
Today, my wife and I went to Belgium, to pick something up that I've bought on the internet. On the way back, we ended up in a big trafficjam. Because of the good weather, everybody wanted to go to the coast, given the fact the Belgian coast is only 56 kilometres long, it was very busy on the road. While travelling at pedestrianspeed through a village, I saw a big billboard with the new Fiat commercial car, the Fiat Fullback...Never seen it before, is it a spin-off from a Chrysler product?

It is very interesting that the field of pick-up manufacturers is growing. The latest newcomer was Isuzu with their nice truck. I like the Isuzu.

The Isuzu is a nice truck, especially in Blade form. However, it is a rather raucous unit and, in base trim, suffers from wind whistling noises over the cab roof, which you may find rather irritating on a long journey. The Blade has more sound insulation, so may be quieter in this regard.DutchRon wrote:It is very interesting that the field of pick-up manufacturers is growing. Re: New Fiat pick-up
The Fiat is an L200 isn't it?
There has been talk about a Jeep pickup, but that would be aimed for the US market I suspect, not for the 1-tonne European market.
So I guess Fiat have just gone off and got a deal with Mitsubishi without involving their Jeep Chrysler arm.
Steve.

Interesting that Isuzu are the worlds biggest producers of pickup trucks. They are a bit off the radar in the UK. Farmers love them, but not so popular in the leisure market.
Will be right up there with HiLux for my next truck choice. But if Isuzu beats Toyota on price then (3rd) Isuzu it is.

Re: New Fiat pick-up
The new Mitsubishi L200 and the Fiat Fullback are essentially the same truck. (Pretty useless for demountables)
As is the Nissan NP300 Navara the Renault Alaskan and the Mercedes X-Class.
The brand new Isuzu D-Max is out in April. May be worth a look.

It has a dual turbo though. I remember the sniggering when VW announced the Amarok would be a 2l. Unfounded I guess.
