If you are considering which way around to sleep in that camper now, you must be getting along with project pretty well  It was just I read the old magazine article on the suntrekker yesterday and today I was attaching the roof panel I've made for the Luton. So I had to lie in there head f...

Re: saDgit's flat-faced pop-top
t looks OK but it's certainly not flawless. I'm not planning to build another one any time soon but, if I did, I definitely wouldn't use polyester. We live and learn, huh? Well it's up high so no one will be able to look too closely, plus as long as it doesn't leak that would be my main worry. I'm ...

Re: saDgit's flat-faced pop-top
Well done Martin, that looks like a nice job you've done there, glad you stuck with it. It's annoying stuff!!! Was it Gel coat you've painted on or flow coat? It's just my understanding is that Gel coat is painted into molds and flow coat can be painted onto the outside and contains wax which floats...

Re: Anyone got one of these portable hobs....
Local camping concession had them for £40 (but then a 20% discount over weekend) so we bought one, a table for it to go on and a bit of hose and a regulator, I'll use the gas on-board for now, then scavenge a bottle from somewhere to hand in as a refill later. What sort of bottle are you after, I'v...

Re: Suntrekker on T4 Double Cab project
I've been plodding on slowly with Suntrekker. The tasks completed are as follows: 1. Completed the panels above the windows with the rails and have now carpeted these. 2. Removed the carpet from the Luton roof ( I had planned to keep this but it was a horrible colour) and added battening and bubble ...

Re: saDgit's flat-faced pop-top
I used polyester resin and chopped strand and also epoxy resin and biaxial cloth / tape on the suntrekker. I found the latter much better to work with and it stuck easier to the plywood. The polyester resin was horrible to work with and made my eyes hurt / itch, if you're using that make sure you ge...

Re: saDgit's flat-faced pop-top
Well done Martin, you are making great progress, I wish I could make such quick progress on the suntrekker. Are you just fibreglassing the joints?

Re: saDgit's flat-faced pop-top
It sounds like you have the right idea regarding the cold bridges Martin. I don't suppose you have a link to the hatches on Amazon? You might also want to look at plastic boat hatches, I got one off eBay with locks for about £30. It's not really big enough for what I need unfortunately but I'll find...
