Re: Currently Looking

And in retrospect, although non-slide, that thing is pretty much an 1161, just without the slide. That is a big camper and even slide-less you'd probably want a DRW truck for it.

I guess it is just a case of waiting until the right thing pops up, and that might be over in Europe.

Re: Currently Looking

I think there was a nice non-slide Lance for sale the other day. Probably suitable for a single-rear-wheel F350. Looked like it had plenty of space despite being non-slide, and stronger / lighter for that.

Cheers, Steve.

Re: New Member - Petrol Pickups?

I am wondering what to do when I replace my current pickup truck. Its replacement will only be due to regulations requiring diesel vehicles to be Euro-6 in various places. I think that is coming in in London next year in their ULEZ (ultra low emission zone), but expect that to spread to other cities...

Re: What do I need to do to my truck to take a camper

Hi Marcus and welcome. The camper will put a lot of weight over the back axle. For safety the first thing to consider is therefore tyres. I use BF Goodrich All Terrains, they are very tough and rated for a much higher load than the tyres that were originally fitted to my truck. I bought the BF Goodr...

Re: Dismal Demountable Dealer

Mmmm, Manby - I recall we used to go there for heavy vehicle trials. Seemed a bit dismal to me, but maybe that was the time of year we held our events  You should get a much better response from both Gary and Morag in Dorset and Golum in Wales. And in my opinion they sell superior products ...

Re: Interesting video's

Very well designed and skillfully executed. You can see the rod that straps to his arm attached to the fake shovel handle when it is leaning on the wall. When he climbs up the ladder he reaches into his jacket and slides the end of that rod into a harness (which we don't see him put on) - it support...

Re: Chinese Diesel Heaters

Another consideration: how much do you trust one of these - you are looking at something that burns diesel within your camper, possibly while you are sleeping. Can you trust a cheap Chinese copy of German heater? What if it leaked diesel, overheated, started a fire in your camper? OK, I've used stuf...

Re: OK so a picture thread not necessarily campers

Its OK Wonkywheel, you're amongst friends here https://s6.postimg.cc/nru1zhopd/padlocks_numbered.jpg That's a particularly complicated way of daisy chaining padlocks together. Landlords do that sort of thing where there are multiple users of a gate and you can give each their own padlock and key. T...
