Re: Fiamma Roof Vent
A couple of years ago I was driving down from Yorkshire to Gatwick to fly to South Africa for a few weeks. When I arrived at the campsite where I was going to spend the night before flying, I found that one of my Fiamma skylights (exactly like your 400 x 400mm one) had broken off its mountings and b...

Re: Fitting a Suntrekker to a Mk 8 Hilux
Thanks! That makes it really clear what you did and how it all works. I guess the three legs still fitted in their pocket in the floor, even with those extension bits added?

Re: Suntrekker on T4 Double Cab project
27.jpg Will it go on that silver VW still? Not sure, I think would look better on something else. Like the look of the guy whos put his on the newish Hilux singlecab. Good job the sides are removable.. It might grow on me once its painted. Would that be this guy? Cos that’s me! http://i59.photobuck...

Re: Solar Panel question?
Resurrecting the thread (why not? not much else is happening) I have a flexible, plastic-encapsulated panel glued onto the roof of my Suntrekker. I suspect the 12S installation was not properly done, and the battery doesn't seem to charge much from the alternator, but the cable does get warm. I thin...

Re: Custom Racks
Interesting (although the video edit barely gives one a long enough look at things to see what's going on...) I made a bike rack that slots onto the fittings for the Suntrekker's rear leg (which of course you don't use when travelling). Two bikes can hang vertically from their seat tubes, hooked ove...

Re: Fitting a Suntrekker to a Mk 8 Hilux
Thanks for that - I had thought of getting hold of some axle stands or something like that. I didn't know about those Fiamma ones. With my Suntrekker wobbling in the breeze at the top of the legs' travel, though, I'm terrified of it falling over, and I'd be almost as frightened of kicking or knockin...

Re: What polish to use?
They do say that old-fashioned hard wax and lots of elbow grease is the best - but on a big camper body, it takes aaaaages! I like Mer Ultimate Shine Polish . You can sometimes find this in Halfords, or (oddly) The Range. It leaves a good shine, leaves water beading and running off readily, and goes...

Re: Fitting a Suntrekker to a Mk 8 Hilux
Interesting comments there, theses are all new to me just now as i am still reading through the site, you mentioned the read legs can i ask if they can be used as steadies when camped out somewhere or does the new (nice) pickup not allow this? The side legs could be used as steadies, no problem. An...

Re: Yorkshire Suntrekker
I asked around in Hereford, where I was working during the summer, and found a chap in Rockfield Road industrial estate there who specialises in repairing plastic body work on cars and motorcaravans. His colleagues at other bodyshops called him Plastic Pete; I don't know his actual name! Anyway, he ...
