Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

Thanks for the information Jon. I Have a combo unit already fitted but with a Butane/Propane bottle with a changeover valve. I try to do most cooking outside on my Cadac as I have a Quick connect to run off the bottles. Socializing in a Coleman event shelter and again cooking on the Cadac but with a...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

With the camper off the truck for the winter, I thought I would make use of my old teardrop trailer to be able to move it about the yard without mounting it on and off. The wheel clearance needed to be catered for so I thought I would stand the camper on a couple of pallets. It had potential but wit...

Re: biv box

It's nice to hear you are coming to terms with the MIG welder. It makes building and altering so much easier. It took me quite a while to master (I use the term loosely) MIG. My build in aluminium is even more challenging than steel, particularly with some thin 1.5mm thick box sections. I can't reme...

Re: Spare wheel relocation?

Zildjian, I think I'm with you on that. Apart from the aesthetic appeal of a bull bar or "A" bar, on reflection, the need to carry a spare has diminished along with my stamina levels. The enthusiasm for the idea I might like to do something like the SC 500 has now been tainted with a little realism....

Re: Spare wheel relocation?

Zildjan, it can get a bit crowded in the back. I already have my large Coleman cool box (no fridge), my folding bicycle and my large plastic caravan steps. Anyway, it wouldn't help as much with the weight distribution. I might just come to that if I haven't found an alternative solution before any p...

Re: Spare wheel relocation?

Thanks for the information, Martin. I must admit I hadn't thought of utilising an "A" bar on the front. I was thinking more like the swing-out spare wheel carriers on some jeeps to allow access to the tailgate only fixed to the front of the cabover bed nose. Your solution ticks quite a few of the bo...

Spare wheel relocation?

As a weight-saving operation, the tailgate is removed prior to fitting the camper. While I was laying underneath spraying Lanoguard underseal I removed the spare wheel and noted just how heavy it was. On another thread, I had discussed the pros and cons of not carrying a spare at all just a couple o...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

Strange? first time I have had to log in for years. Either something has changed on my computer or the website? Admin? Thanks, Jon, I have been looking at Celotex which I believe is similar. I do intend to give it a try. It is good to know it works for you as I don't do that many miles these days. I...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

The greywater pipe option is a good idea. I just happen to have about 8 feet of 6-inch pipe that would be suitable.
I'll put that on the list
