Re: What to replace my rig with?

Hi Mike, Yes, the 20 MPG was a result of my latest trip around Ireland, around 2300 miles. I think the best I've had is around 22 on my 1600 mile trip around the Highlands this summer. Admittedly the an old school engine and brick like aerodynamics don't work in it's favour but I don't drive it hard...

Re: My Ranger & Suntrekker - Intro / Updates

Cheers Mark. We loved it. Lots of trips planned for the future but I'm wondering if the truck and camper is the right combination for long term travel. I'll be heading up to Scotland this winter though for a few days, I've always been in early autumn up to now. I fancy putting the 4 wheel drive and ...

Re: Custom Racks

Amanda, I'd love to see some photos if you could. We've been wanting to take our bikes on our trips however didn't want to throw them in the camper and they're too big for the rear area of the supercab.

Re: My Ranger & Suntrekker - Intro / Updates

Thanks. I've spent a fair amount of time up in the Scottish Highlands and the landscapes were very similar, however Ireland seemed a lot more "untouched" by tourists. I'm not sure if this is because we went in September, but we'd often have the roads to ourselves. Ireland felt a lot more chilled out...

What to replace my rig with?

My recent trip to Ireland was the longest I've spent in the camper so far - 1 month covering 2300 miles and it's made me think I'd like to do more long trips, maybe even a year or so at a time. I love my current setup however I wonder if there's something I could replace it with without compromising...

Re: My Ranger & Suntrekker - Intro / Updates

Well I'm back from my Ireland trip, a month and 2300 miles round the Wild Atlantic Way, and Causeway Coastal Route. https://www.wawaudax.com/uploads/6/3/1/2/63121131/4046636.jpg?380 Thoroughly enjoyed it, despite a few unnerving windy nights and Storm Helen claiming a skylight! We wild camped for 28...

Re: My Ranger & Suntrekker - Intro / Updates

Great photo's, great adventure. Thanks for sharing them. Those tires look as if your ready for anything  Do you carry any other items, Winch? Waffle boards or the like? Mark I have a set of road wheels and tyres for the truck but have never fitted them as the Cooper's just look so purposeful! ...

Re: My Ranger & Suntrekker - Intro / Updates

Hi Rob, I'm in a very similar situation with regard to usage, in my case I do a lot of water based activities Kayaking, Windsurfing, and a wet room is a great addition. I also currently have a Suntrekker but have now acquired a Ranger Demountable as a project as my wife wanted a 'fixed bed'. Coming...

Re: My Ranger & Suntrekker - Intro / Updates

Thanks Mike. It's a tough one. My trips mainly consist of "wild camping" which can often lead me down rough country lanes and tracks etc. I'm sometimes wary (although I'm probably wrong) that the Suntrekker is encroaching on the trucks limits in regards to weight, especially when you take into accou...
