Diesel hob - has anyone any experience of them?

Has any one used, fitted or know anyone who has experience of one. I am seriously considering fitting one - in the SunTrekker we have 2 of the smallest propane bottles, in a barely legal/ safe locker. With a diesel heater I could use a small 5 litre Jerry can on a rack bolted to a rear panel. Less w...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

Thanks, Martin, I might need rubber buffers as I have a 50mm thick piece of wood both under and at the front end. The tub height is just too much higher on the Wildtrack compared to the Thunder. I was going to put some 50mm square "Ali" box rails for the camper to sit on but I only had 3mm thick se...

Re: Buying a used Suntrekker, print this off...

Was it complicated to fit? couple of years back I fitted a sunroof and found that really straightforward (apart from the initial trepidation of cutting hole in perfectly good roof) :) You know the old saying "Fools rush in where Angels .....etc" Well I rushed in (I have already converted old type r...

Hi bit belated @Amanda_P re replacement windows. The original side window in ours was getting old - curtains needed replaced etc. (as I have said before our one-off unit only had a right hand window when we got it - I had already fitted a small Seitz copy Shield window in the LH side) So I bit the f...

Re: Stiffening suspension

The alternative to "air suspension" are mechanical spring helpers. There is a thread on these boards on this subject. http://demountablecampergroup.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1707 In favour of mechanical spring helpers is - they are simple, low tech and durable. However the air suspension units are in...

Re: Suspension: Load Plus helper springs

As you said Zildjian - the brake compensator needed adjusting. Fortunately my L200 manual gave the correct spring length for both unloaded and loaded - I have moved it to as near fully loaded as I can achieve, without fabricating a new bracket. The given values were 189-193mm unloaded and 215mm load...

Re: Suspension: Load Plus helper springs

My load helpers - SAX Equaliser, are like saDgit describes fitting to his truck with differences. So start by jacking up the truck. L200 SAX equaliser.jpg As you can see there are a pair of conventional U Bolts, with a flat plate, these clamp the spring assister at the end nearest to the axle. Initi...
