Re: Insurance

No amount of tape was going to save this. Only caught the corner of it too and just heard the cracks spreading across the whole thing :o I've just spoken to National Windscreens and they apparently also deal with our insurers (Markerstudy) so are happy to replace it for just the excess. They can com...

Re: glass cover

Well I shattered the rear glass on my truck last night, called Campton this morning over it and have autoglass coming out (Autoglass apparently need over a week to slot jobs in like this) which seems pretty crap, and they wouldn't have been my first choice by a long stretch following a disastrous s...

Re: Tyre pressure with campers'

Continental ✖ Contacts on the Amarok. Use the manufacturer's recommended pressure of 3 Bar on the rear (around 45psi) + the same on the airbags and it drives a treat. Tried playing with the airbag pressures, but this setup seems to work the best.

Re: Need to lose some weight/re-plating vehicle

[Do they vary in load rating even in the same size?] The answer would be yes and no :). It varies between tyre manufacturers, tyre types and sizes the maufacturer offers. e.g Michelin offer a 4x4/suv tyre 265/65x17 with the following load index options 110, 112 & 116. But with their 4x4/SUV tyre 275...

Re: Need to lose some weight/re-plating vehicle

Well done for complaining, Chris. I had been thinking about doing it myself. He was always honest about who was causing the delays when we finally got through to him, so fair shout. And we (Amarok owners) did get the job done without having to take the vehicle to them for inspection :)

Re: Need to lose some weight/re-plating vehicle

The new rating plate on our Amarok, has to be located as close to the original as possible - our Airbag plate is next to the original so it had to go here. Just waiting for the DVLA to do their bit with the V5. http://i58.tinypic.com/23sy83p.jpg Weighpads weigh around 30kg each so may have to leave ...

Spotted out and about

While camping on mother (in-law)'s drive over bank holiday week, during a spot of golf at Barton-on-Sea, overlooking the Isle of Wight, a demountable came into sight at the nearby beach car park. Was a bit too far away to get a very good pic. No picture of ours on the drive due to the lack of pictur...

Re: Re-plating pickup truck weight

I'm just about due to replace my tyres and also considering re-plating the truck. I was going to go for BFG AT tyres that everyone seems to recommend, but I've also seen people suggesting that you need tyres with a load rating of 112 or 114 for re-plating to 3500Kg, whereas the ATs are only rated a...
