Re: Lincolnshire seller

I like the shortbed F150 though - not sure that is included in the price. Also not sure about the fact it is listed as a 2.5 litre diesel

Re: Do I need new batteries?

The thing about setpoint not reached, loads disconnected could be to do with a function some of these solar controllers have - which is that when the battery is fully charged they can divert their power to a separate "load" to run that, e.g. a water heater.

Not a feature I've used.

Re: Do I need new batteries?

Yes, your batteries are dead. With your batteries disconnected (and left to settle for a while) you should see these voltages for the related state of charge: 12.65v = 100% charge 12.45v = 75% charge 12.24% = 50% charge There are several types of batteries available. Standard car batteries are proba...

Re: Toyota Tacoma Vs Hilux

I like the look of the bottom one. But at the end of the day my vote goes to whichever is more commonly seen with a 50mm heavy machine gun mounted in the load bed or 2 tons of drill pipe hanging out the back (I've seen that in Thailand). We must remember that in the US if you intend to carry stuff i...

Re: Which solar

Re. voltages, When I got mine it was January. I placed it face down on the carpet in the lounge and hooked up the voltmeter. I got 1v open circuit (no load). Turning it the right way up I got 16.27v. When I fitted the two panels to the camper roof I taped aluminium backed bubble-wrap insulation - th...

Re: Access to spare wheel when camper is on board.

And make sure your jack is capable of lifting the truck and camper to actually change the wheel. Yes. I don't ever use the pressed steel OEM jack. I carry a 12 ton bottle jack instead. Steve. I think that the highest rated bottle jack that I have at the moment is 2 ton, assuming that you are only l...

Re: 'alternator to battery charger' Question?

Batteries Regular starting batteries provide high current for engine starting but cannot be discharged much or they will fail. Leisure batteries are starting batteries that are a bit more tolerant of being discharged by more than a few percent, but still maybe only a few dozen times before they are...

Re: When demounted?

We find the pickup very useful with the camper removed: We take rubbish down the tip in it. We've removed logs in it. Collected building materials. Collected rubbish for the local litter pick. Collected a Land Rover Discovery rear door and extra parts for a friend. Carried the mountain bikes in the ...
