Re: Replacement Suntrekker Skylight

Personally I would put the Fiamma one in, I have two in my Suntrekker. I just replaced the original MTK as I find them a bit clunky in my Ranger Demountable, I prefer the wind up opening with incorporated fly screen which is important to have as it keeps out midges and other insects. The 40 x 40 is ...

Re: Split Charging Systems

Hi Wonky, I reckon before you outlay on any improvements to your current set up maybe a checklist might be in order as your plans include year round usage. Do you plan on 'only wild camping' with no external power source.? For example; what heat source do you currently have ? will you need extra sta...

Re: Fitting a diesel heater or similar

So finished installing a "Chinese Air Diesel Heater" "I'm using kerosene. On Start up it draws quite a bit to get the glow plug ready, but when running not a lot at all, the hose out the top of the tank is a siphon filling hose . So far so good , it's a 5kw and cost around 150£. Great info from a FB...

Re: Fiamma Roof Vent

When you fit the replacement have a look at the the void area between the ceiling and outer roof, make sure this area is well supported with battens ! When you tighten the screws this area pulls and needs to be firm. If at all possible slightly raise this area by a couple of millimeters this will ca...

Re: Fitting a diesel heater or similar

I reckon if it uses half a liter or even a liter of the cheaper "red" diesel during a day/night at say 1euro per liter that doesn't really count as a cost ! re the electricity, I have a good leisure battery and Solar panel, so power is next to costless aswell. My concerns will be more about reliabil...

Re: Fitting a diesel heater or similar

Hi Mark, I went for the "5kw" as a number of posts mentioned that the *8kw* was really a 5kw ( even on the packaging). I had thought of tapping into the main tank but for now just installing it ( whenever it arrives) as standard should be fun enough, although problems I foresee are when needing heat...
