Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

Another 3 days Drag Race meeting over. Fine weather, (actually too hot for me on Saturday afternoon  ) great racing and a lot of pre 73 cars and hot rods to drool over. One of my friends actually purchased a 55 Chevy (2 lane blacktop copy) https://i.ibb.co/WD2Rg0B/2lane-blacktop.jpg ...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

After another great weekend at Santapod there is little time to do much on the camper. The fact I am going again next weekend for a meeting called "Hot Rod Drags", means emptying and cleaning and restocking this week. Initially, I had intended to go on Thursday last week but while trying to get the ...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

Thanks for the information Jack but as a home build in aluminium and fibreglass I an hoping its weatherproof enough. There could well be others on the site that are interested so I will pass it along.

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

Managed a little more as the Santapod trip nears. I wanted to get the electrics to the sink unit sorted so that the electric ignition to the burners worked (I could never find the lighter) and I could have running water to the sink. The fused bus bar for that side of the camper hadn't arrived so at ...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

It is difficult not to go "Engineering" having been a precision engineer and toolmaker for 54 years  I have tried though. I did a few geometric shapes to satisfy the inner me, then, in an effort to cut a better progressive curve had a brainwave   I got my sewing box out, :sho...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

I have to admit that I am pleasantly pleased considering I only cut about 1/2 metre off both rolls,(black and grey) to play with. I think the next attempt will be more angular with the vinyl cut on a proper cutting board using a straight edge. I am going to cut out a selection of random shapes and s...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

It was too hot to do much today. I did manage to fit the bottom dropdown cupboard :) although I got so hot and bothered doing it I manage to break the thin front section at the top when cutting the access hole :( https://i.ibb.co/qy6YFQd/DSCF0124.jpg The hinges were a little challenging and will nee...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

I am surprised, that's not very long. I remember the advice that I was given when building my teardrop. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation to lose the water vapor. Many wooden builds rot at the bottom edges where the condensation runs down the walls, not from external leaks. I fitted vents at...

2019 Whitby Runaway

Better late than never. It's been a couple of months since the runaway and no one has posted anything about it so. Being new to the group this was the first outing I have had with the group. I must say it was a most enjoyable experience. Helpful, friendly, and good company in the evenings while havi...

Re: SKarosser Copy Scratch Home build?????

It was over 30c inside the camper today just after 9am. Too hot and uncomfortable to do much inside. The 3rd draw, the lowest one, has turned into a hinged sort of drop-down cubby :D The depth was too small to allow the cut down slider units to function. I am hoping I can get a fire extinguisher to ...
