Re: Wiring A USB socket

Thanks guys

I'll have a little think about it. A switch definitely seems a good idea, but in principal it should be OK.

Re: Wiring A USB socket

Hi There is a couple of 3pin 240v (Running, I assume from either the hookup or an inverter) and one 12v round cigarette lighter type socket. However this 12v socket is by the door and at the other end of the camper to the bed where I would like to have some power. I could plug into one of the 3 pins...

Wiring A USB socket

Sooo, there is currently no power in the bed area of the van, so I'm thinking of adding a car usb port, such as this... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01EMZ55GW/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1472814433&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=car+usb+port&dpPl=1&dpID=41b3ahAN3DL&ref=plSr However the o...

Re: Rear Awning

I too would be interested in this.

I have a northstar also.
I'm toying with the idea of a tarp that I can mount back or side. With an awning as and when.

Re: Matching a pickup to a demountable

Thanks guys

That's esp. useful walk through Steve.

I've now got a 2004 Northstar 700; I'm currently looking mainly at an old shape L200 to go under it, but am flirting with a U.S pick up such as a f150 or Dodge Dakota (but finding one at a good price is proving a challenge)

Re: Air assisted suspension on trucks

Air bags sound like a splendid idea. And I can see any number of benefits, not just for a demountable but for the truck in general use. I was talking to my mechanic, who suggested that the way to go was tuneable shocks (I think as well as airbags but i'm not sure) however. His argument being that th...

Re: Hello From A Yet To Be Demounter

it was a l200 double cab 2007 plate (new weird curvy shape)

So the bed is shorter than the standard short beds of UK pickups. The Long bed option for the L200 didn't come in until 2009 i think.

Re: Hello From A Yet To Be Demounter

Well guys I've bitten. Bought a 2003 northstar! Now I just need to get a truck! They guy I bought it off had it on a l200 but it overhung a bit. So that seems like a bad idea, what do y'all think? We're having a bunch of people over to camp in our garden at the weekend so I'll get to give it a dry r...
