I forgot to update on this but a local engineering company sorted me out. I rebuilt the jack and it works perfectly.

I have had BFG All terrains on a number of Landrovers for years, generally exceeded 70000 miles per set so well worth the slightly higher initial cost. 235/85/16 on a Landrover 130.

Did anyone ever come up with a solution or purchase a spare leg. I have photos on Facebook group of the busted internals on mine.
