Re: Gas Bottles for Bimobil Husky?

Morning Chris, As you can guess!, we've had this problem and looked at all sorts of solutions. The UK Calor gas bottles don't fit in the hole at all. The Gaslow ones do as they're a couple of cm smaller, so fit in, but are still bigger than the green German ones, and you can't fit two in. (we did th...

Re: Bimobil Import??

Don't worry, it'll all be worth it once you got there!

Sounds like you have a beast!, mines on a 2.5TDi Mistsibushi, and that's not quick but good enough.

My hinges are still buggered, we just havent opened the rear door for a bit!, it's on the to do list!

Re: Insurance & where to get it

I didnt see this until now.

Camptons do seem to be the go to place, but as you say not including business insurance. We did get insurance on the chassis number in the end, but the UW were very keen for us to get it UK registered as soon as possible (in fact I was hounded!)

Wow .. that's brilliant news, really pleased for you. Please do reply back with what youve bought, and what options you went for! The husky with the 3 berth configuration with the seats at the back really are brilliant. Only other bit of advice, make sure you oil the hinges, mine are bug***d and nee...

Re: Bimobil Import??

Hi Chris, No problem, glad to be able to share experiences. I've only registered the truck in the UK, the camper bit on the back is demountable, and as such can move on and off, and the DVLA doesn't seem to be that worried about it, or the insurance company (they know about the demountable bit and i...

Re: Bimobil Import??

Hi Chris I'm not sure if you've seen this but here is a write up that I put together when we purchased ours: Importing a Bimobil- our experience It was well worth doing as demountables really hold there value. We paid circa 26k Euros (which was about £18.5k at the time), and they're still around tha...

Re: Any love for Bimobil?

Our Husky is brilliant it must be said ... for 2 people. But if there is a bigger group that want to come in for a cuppa or a glass of wine, space is limited (as seating is really only for 2). The Husky's without the rear door (which is a selling point), can seat 4, but you lose the lovely view out ...
