Re: Condensation
Some campers are more prone to condensation than others. Ours has an aluminum frame (excellent heat conductor) and a popup top (relatively poor insulation, even if it has 3 layers). The only things that help are 1)heat 2)vent. A lot. Energy saving can be good, but condensation would be an unintended...

Re: Chassis strength
I have mostly seen (here in Germany) issues with the Navara frame. But I think the main reason is the fact that the Navara is a very common truck choice. Any frame will give you trouble when overloaded. A King Cab with 80cm or more rear overhang, the right speed and the right weight in the wrong pla...

Re: Hassle free buying in Germany
I have dealt with the Wohnkabinencenter Folks before. Actually, Jens bought our Lance from us when we imported the current camper in 2011.
They are a professional outfit, and I can not say anything bad about them. Recommend.

Well, the scale is in Fahrenheit, after all. If *I* can get it mastered as a continental european...
To be honest, we ran into that issue, too. Baguette in two colors (white/black). The heat is not very well distributed. A sheet of aluminum foil on the grille does wonders.

Re: Learn us about ovens...
You're better off with what you've got Zildjian. Our experience of American RV ovens is that they are completely useless - only ever used ours as a breadbin. Breadbin, eh? Why do you think they are useless? Once you find out how to get them started properly, they work really well. If they don't, so...

Re: Travelling in cold weather
I can vouch to the low-temperature (un)availabilty of Butane. Happened to us once, at -5C, at 4:30 AM. First, no more gas. Furnace keeps running until voltage is low. Gas sensor in camper goes off due to low voltage. Inhabitants woken up very rudely... We had bought the bottle in summer in Southern ...

Re: Hi there from the other side...
Thats a lot of rot, how long did that take to repair? The better part of 6 weeks in April/May 2009. The rot was limited to the rearmost 30cm of the camper floor and both sideskirts. That sinking feeling when you get a new to you camper and sink a screwdriver all the way to the handle and then you k...

Re: Hi there from the other side...
Thanks for the welcome! Oh my, the good old Bog Queen ;-) She was a great camper, but too big and too heavy for us. That is a great web page and a nice link collection you got there! Now I know what will keep me busy... The original text about our old camper is still online: Bog queen http://s9.post...

Hi all, sorry for the delay in responding and thanks for the warm welcome! We were on a short weekend tour :-) The picture above is from the main street of a small village by the name of Heuchelheim-Klingen (which is the twin capital of Germany as it claims to have the largest percentage of twin bir...

Hi there from the other side...
...of the Channel! Found your site today via rubberrat's post in our german forum. My wife Janina and myself (Joerg) have been Truck Camping (as the americans like to call it) since 2009. Our first demountable camper was a 2001 Lance 915 which we sold in 2011. Then we had a new Outfitter Apex 8 Popu...
