It's been quite a while since my last update. Didn't do a whole lot last fall. Work and other issues kept me from working on the camper. But since January I've been very busy. The interior has come quite a way, I even built the sitting benches twice. A few challenges are left. I'm still not satisfie...

Re: Bas Landrover

Little bit more progress: did the cutting of the corners of the roofpanels. Which was a pain in the *ss to comprehend because of the different angles. So it took us the whole night to figure it out and cut it. Creating the inner frame for the roof will be next and than trying to figure out the lifti...

Also been working on the roof and wheel arches.

Re: Bas Landrover

No not my welding... trying to learn though, but left this project into the hands of a skilled professional.
It's pretty hard because the aluminum tends to warp pretty rapidly when welded, so you need to know how to proceed and where to apply the first tacks and how to finish off the welds later on.

Looks great! Yesterday I made the profiles from the roof from a big plate of aluminum (with a little he...

Re: Bas Landrover

Construction: I will start by making a frame out of square aluminum tubing. Bottom will be 40x40x3 and the rest mainly 30x30x3mm. Will be a light frame that is covered by an aluminum skin (2mm bottom / 1.2mm rest) glued with an MS polymer. The frame will be isolated with 4cm XPS / Styrodur isolation...
