Re: Thinking Dangerous Thoughts...
Thanks for the pics, Zildjian - it all looks reassuringly simple to do! I particularly like the last one, which has more boxing-in done than the others. I think I see the way forward now. Yes, Keeflester, even with a nominal desert-convoy-system-based-on-the-carrying-capacity-of-camels, a touch of q...

Re: (Truck) Top Removal Process
That's so clear and easy! Thanks a million, I will set something up so I can do this with the terrifically heavy Leer truck top we have on our F250 pickup.

Re: Insurance
I found exactly the same as Gary with the good ol' NFU Mutual - I have my house contents insurance with them, as well as pickup insurance, and they arranged it so that when the demountable is mounted on the pickup, it's covered on the pickup insurance as 'contents of the load bed', and when it's dis...

Re: Bizarre Problem!
No, Lamplit, it's all returned to us now, thank God! That was quite a learning experience! Re: friendly MOT men... well, the lad who tested the pickup was very correct and (one step that I neglected to mention in my blow by blow account due to seriously losing the will to live) actually failed the t...

Re: Bizarre Problem!
Well guys, it's been a bit longer than three weeks! The pickup's original MOT date was 7th April, so all in all, the whole process took 12 and a half weeks. It went like this: take the pickup to be MOTd. Abort: too big for their ramps. Take pickup to be MOTd at a centre that does Class 7. Abort agai...
