Re: Our trip
Hi all, thanks for your replies. The red polarity light comes on only when the supply is wired wrongly, and yes it was only when connected for several days that the charge transformer failed. Can anyone suggest a supplier of a replacement charger rather than go to Niche marketing for a genuine USA m...

Our trip
We had a big trip in France this summer. Did 6000 miles and had a great time. A few issues arose however which I thought I'd share with the group. The most serious was a ruptured gas filler pipe on our new Gaslow system. A big cloud of LPG erupted from the door to the cylinder as I was filling. Fair...

Re: Weigh-in and first trip.
Hi folks, Well we are up and away to la France today (via a dancing weekend in the Lakes!) Had a trip to a good accurate weigh bridge tho yesterday and rather horrified to see we were 200kg over on the rear axle and overall and only marginally under on the front. We are going anyway and chancing it....

Gas in France
Hi fund of all knowledge demountable, We are off to France next week. We have room for two small calor bottles. Should I just take one so I can buy a French type and regulator, or take them both filled and assume I will get the calors filled/exchanged? Thanks, Tony

Re: Air Bags
Hi Ffolks, We have an airbag system which we bought from the states. Can't remember the make but wouldn't recommend them. We had to fabricate brackets and instructions were non existant. It came with full in cab control and built in compressor etc and IMPORTANTLY separate control for each side. It i...

Gas in France
Hi folks, We are off to France in june for 2 months and have heard we won't be able to get our calor bottles filled. I was thinking of taking just one small cylinder and then getting a French type cylinder and fitting a french regulator when we need to change over. Any other ideas? I know we could g...

Re: Insurance
Hi, We have our demountable only with Crusader via the caravan club. £246/annum. Good service when we had a big claim and premium didn't go up on renewal. Try them. Tony

Re: Solar panels
Hi again, Just saw your insurance question. Yes I must recommend Crusader because we did put in a fairly big claim last yr when I lightly tapped a rear leg on a local Welsh boulder and disrupted the whole rear corner of the camper. It was an over 2grand repair and they paid no bother AND my premium ...

Re: Solar panels
Hello again , Well I've gone and bought a 100w flexi solar panel with a charge regulator. The regulator has come complete with good clear instructions, but no instructions with the panel itself. I've contacted the supplier for more info but in the meantime thought I'd ask you my trusty demountable f...
